Each issue our team hunts through the best submissions by our “A-grade” surf photographers. A magazine cover shot is the most coveted trophy for any photographer. With a glut in the digital market, photos get minimal view time. Having a photo published in print these days is a tough gig. So, we’re giving YOU the chance to be a part of SL history and see your photo feature in our glossy.

Surfing Life, like our name suggests, means we’re passionate about every aspect of a surfing life—waves, travel, surfers, lifestyle, technique or capturing surfing as you see it. If a picture is worth a thousand words … submit a photo that makes us speechless.
FREE Entry:
Maximum of 5 photos/entries per entrant. Photos can be from 2022 to 2023 from around the world, but only open to Australian residents.
First Prize $3000 Salty Surf Housing Voucher:
Thanks to our partners Salty Surf Housings we are giving the first winner a $3000 voucher to be used on anything from the Salty Surf Housings online store. That’s a massive first place prize that you will be able to pair up with your current kit.
Photos:
All photos are to be sent to photos@surfinglife.com.au as a JPEG (approx. 2MB). After the top ten have been selected, a RAW, high-resolution JPEG or TIF will be requested so it can be printed in the magazine. Remember print-quality images are required.
Judging:
The photos will be judged by a select panel of industry professionals. All decisions will be final.
In Print:
The photos of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and the rest of the top ten will be printed in the Winter issue of Surfing Life (on shelves 1 June 2023). Submitting to this competition gives Surfing Life the right to publish the winning photo in the magazine, on our website and on our social media channels without reimbursement.
