There’s an oft quoted saying that states, “We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us,” (Anonymous). Being such an enriching experience, travel not only literally broadens our horizons, but also opens our minds to new landscapes, cultures, food and of course, waves. And if travel is indeed such a life altering experience like the quote suggests, my question is: why are you still here?

I’ve been fortunate enough to have travelled a fair bit over the last 12 months. The type of work I was doing meant there was more international travel than domestic, and it also meant I experienced some destinations for the very first time. Brazil, Bali (don’t judge me, I’m a late bloomer) and Taiwan were among them. I’m one of those people that love the entire travel experience. The airports, the transfers, the lounges, finding my aisle seat on the plane, watching the movies and yes, I don’t even mind the airline food. Sure, there are a handful of annoying things along the way — standing in queues, delayed flights, the dude in front of you laying his seat down on your lap and the air hostesses bumping your elbow while you’re trying to sleep. But it’s almost worth it every single time. No, it is worth it every single time.
