Video: John Wiley

The 2012 Volcom Pipe Pro will go down in the annals of surfing as one of the best contests in recent history. After a slow start, Pipeline pumped for every day of the contest - in fact, it got too big and dangerous a couple of times and the heats had to go on hold.

But besides the consistent throaty barrels and multitudes of surfers throwing themselves down the vertical wave faces, the 2012 Volcom Pipe Pro will most be remembered for the epic final. There might have been four surfers in the water, but all that will be spoken about for years to come is the battle between the undisputed King of Pipeline, Jamie O'Brien, and his understudy, Prince John John Florence.

John Wiley was there to witness it all first hand. And if you didn't get to watch the final unfold on live webcast, check out the last three waves of this video. One word: insane.

There's a new King of Pipeline!
