the basics

Originally intended to be a windsurfing camp – as Scott and much of the Maui crew had been coming to Fiji for years to windsurf. However, over time the windsurfing quickly took a back seat to surfing. Namotu has accommodation for up to 24 guests in a variety of villas and bures (bungalows), which are nicely furnished and air-conditioned with private bathrooms, hot/cold running water and bangin’ views.

expedition essentials

hardware: Ideal quiver would combine the lot, including a small performance board, medium big-wave board and large gun, or longboard. BYO ding repair kit too, (though Namotu has ding repair materials and offers a ding repair service.)
non-surf: Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat. It gets toasty!
medical: The medical clinic is only a short ride away and a medivac procedure is in place for when necessary. No inoculations currently required.

Namotu Left	Super-close to the resort, this long left offers open-face walls suited to any craft and approach. Too much fun.	6/10	10/10	Average of 10-to-15 surfers.	Beginner to advanced depending on the day.
Cloudbreak	Infamous Fijian left only a short boat ride from camp. Pack your figs and prepare to get shacked!	8/10	10/10	This is the place peeps come to score. Usually at least 20 cats in the water though.	Advanced surfers.
Restaurants	If Cloudbreak is the main meal in these parts, this racy left is your good-sized entrée, with some long, long barrels to be had.	8/10	9/10	Anywhere between 10 and 20 when it’s on.	Intermediate to advanced surfers and up.
Swimming Pools	More playful rights than you can poke a stick at, and perfect for when you want a break from Cloudbreak and Retaurants’ size and power.	5/10	10/10	Average of six-to-eight surfers.	Beginner to advanced depending on day.
Wilkes Pass	Right-handers only three minutes from camp that provide a happy medium between the fun and the fear.	7/10	10/10	Average of 10-12 riders.	Intermediate level of surfer and up.
