hardware: Simply bring the tools of your trade; two short boards and a slightly bigger board would be the ideal recommendation. Ding repair kit can come in handy too.
non-surf: Sunscreen, hat, iPod and lappy.
medical: SW base in Padang can organise a chopper if needed. The speedboat (based in Bungus Harbour) is an adequate backup and with three 200 hp engines it can get you where you need to go in a few hours (weather permitting). There’s an extensive first aid kit on-board with Shayne having completed first aid training and competent with any medical situation. Other travel injections and medication are up to the individual, none are currently recommended.

The Surging Waters team will be more than happy to take you to all the big name spots. There’s also plenty of exploration and discovery to be had in these here parts, and the Kaimana crew are self-confessed specialists at getting you on the most pumping waves, without the big name crowds that often go with the big name spots. After all, you came here to surf, right?
