After surfing epic Pipeline over the weekend Kelly Slater tweeted his thoughts:

Kelly and Kieren Perrow wanted to postpone the final day of the Billabong Pipe Masters until a better, larger predicted swell came through later in the week. But organisers and other surfers pushed ahead, and fortunately for Kieren the outcome worked in his favour and he stood atop the podium with his first World Tour trophy.
Most of the Tour surfers headed back home after being bundled out of the Pipe Masters, but when you see the waves still on offer on the North Shore, why would anyone want to leave?
Pumping surf coincided with the Queensland Labour Day long weekend ... but Andrew Shield didn't stop working.
