Mick Fanning Urges Chicks, Check Your Tits

Tuesday, 26 February 2013

Two-time ASP World Champion surfer Mick Fanning will join good friend Julian Wilson in his annual campaign to raise awareness among younger women in the fight against breast cancer.

Fanning will wear his signature MF1 boardshorts, in the colour pink during the first event of the ASP World tour on the Gold Coast, March 2-13 2013, to support the cause and help raise awareness.

Mick's pink MF1 boar dies.

“I saw Julian doing it the last couple of years and thought it was a great idea. Also the women in my life, my wife, my mum, sister and nieces are so special so I would hate if it happened to them. So to raise money for research and care was a no brainer,” said Mick.

Julian stated “I am so excited to have good friend, and also someone I look up to in Mick Fanning, jump on board and throw his support behind me and the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Together we are hoping to influence younger women and make them aware of the benefits from early detection of breast cancer while we also strive to raise as much money as possible to help find a cure”.

Julian Wilson has been inspired by his mother’s successful fight against Breast Cancer when he was a child. When he was capable of making a difference he did just that, becoming an ambassador for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Julian uses his personal ‘Chicks Check Your Tits’ slogan to help support the National Breast Cancer Foundation, with all money raised going towards researching a cure.

Fanning’s pink boardshorts will be framed and auctioned off on eBay in the week following the Quiksilver Pro, with the final auctioned cost being donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Both Fanning and Wilson will donate prize packs including surfboards to a local Gold Coast raffle to raise money for Breast Cancer Research. Tickets will go on sale with local retailers March 2nd, 2013 with the prizes being drawn March 14th, 2013.
