Friday night in downtown Ventura, and although we were low key it was fun to eat at the Busy Bee Diner in amongst the Elvis memorabilia and waitresses in pigtails, before finding a beachside carpark and calling it a night. After a big night at the Still Filthy premiere, and with another day of solid driving under our belts, the team needed sleep. Not that finding it on the road has been a problem. Despite the rear beds getting up a steady rock, and the middle beds being slightly short for comfortable kip, if there's one thing these groms can do it's nap at the drop of a cap.

America (not counting Hawaii) has been a first time experience for most of the team. For Mitch it's the opportunity to fulfill his dreams of being a gangsta. After a day of shopping in Hollywood he was back at the van in baggy shorts, new Nike sneakers, an oversized LA t-shirt and a red bandana, happily brandishing a replica Glock, which although not as powerful as Shieldsy's weapon is still enough to take an eye out. Thankfully this isn't a concern for the team, who will happily shoot each other all day long.

"I could live in Hollywood," mumbles Mitch to no-one in particular.
"Yeah same," says Noah, "this place is unreal." Mitch then reverts to reciting rap songs, as he does all day everyday. "I'm just a small town boy chasing big city dreams. Where Brooklyn at?"
"I dunno about this place," says Dean. "Food's shithouse, waves are pretty shithouse, girls are friendly though. But who knows?"

Today was productive. A couple of beachies turned on, the boys responded accordingly, and photos and film were burned off furiously. It's funny how sometimes surfing becomes work. I was standing on the beach today, scratching my head over the ifs, buts and whatevers of the waves on offer whne the penny dropped that if this was the beach across the road from my house in Queensland, it'd be the best day of the year. Talon thought the same, we sent the team out, and banked more shots for the vault. Taking care of business, seppo style.
