Local treat, BBQ chicken, hot chips, mayo and tomato sauce. That's the tower and the Chopes line-up on the horizon. Pic Will H-S.

The swell projected to pulse through this morning has failed to manifest, resulting in the fifth consecutive lay day for the Billabong Pro Tahiti.

“It’s unfortunate that today’s swell hasn’t turned up but not all the surprising,” Richie Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “The first real fetch of swell we’ve been expecting is looking to come in Sunday night and hang around through mid next week. That said, we’ll return tomorrow morning at 7am to assess conditions..”

Surfline are calling for a small, long period southwest swell will continue on Friday, which will offer a slight increase in size and power from what we saw earlier in the week. A larger and medium size south-southswell swell will build in Monday. The long range forecast continues to look more promising as well.

Out The Back Yakking. Out in the Chopes line-up we catch up with Jordy Smith, Adam Melling, Tom Whitaker and Luke Munro.
