By replacing the neoprene in our wetsuits with natural rubber from the hevea tree, we’re able to reduce CO2 emissions by up to ~80% in the manufacturing process.
WETSUIT DETAILS
WETSUITs PRODUCT SUMMARY : A high-performance, neoprene-free wetsuit made of 85% Yulex® natural rubber/15% synthetic rubber by polymer content. Replacing a petroleum-based material with a plant-based one, they offer the same warmth and performance attributes as conventional stretch neoprene while reducing CO2 emissions by up to ~80% in the manufacturing process. The natural rubber is derived from sources that are Forest Stewardship Council® certified by the Rainforest Alliance.
Feature 1: 100% external seam sealing; all seams are triple glued and 100% internally taped
Feature 2: High-stretch 100% recycled polyester jersey lining in the arms/legs improves flexibility and dry time; exterior face fabric made with 85% recycled polyester/15% spandex is durable, stretchy and water-resistant
Feature 3: Torso/thighs have 51% recycled polyester/44% polyester/5% spandex inverted microgrid thermal lining that minimizes weight, dries fast and offers excellent flexibility
Feature 4: Supratex kneepads and ankle cuffs for maximum durability and anatomic fit
Feature 5: Floating front-zip with corrosion-proof Salmi® zipper provides extra room to get in/out and extends suit’s lifespan; easy-access key loop
OUR TWO CENTS
This is a great suit. The seals are so good, it actually had us wondering if it’s going to be too warm for a Queensland winter. A conundrum that we’ve yet experienced in any wetsuit test.
Thanks to the A1 seals and seams, that first time getting out of it is a mission. We thought we’d be doing the Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon and dislocating our shoulder on our car door to get outta it.
By the second and third time however, the suit had loosened right up and we were getting in and out of it like a pro.
