Scary flashbacks to Kerrzy's quiver; classical non compressed outline.
A wide range of surfers, especially those looking for a less-rigorous high-performance alternative in 2-5 foot surf.
Almost none – minor deck dents.
It was really smooth. If you gave it the time to go into its turns it was very smooth with a very nice release off the top. It didn’t catch and was super clean through turns. Really whippy, but not too narrow to handle smaller waves.
Felt really clean and normal, snappy, a little draggy on the absolute back end thanks to bigger fins than I might normally use. Tim got hold of it and his greater height and leverage seemed to get a fraction more vertical movement out of the board.
I think it’s a really good all-round board. I surfed it in the beachies and at a little right reef and it did the job everywhere. A real go to – out of all the boards we surfed it was one I knew I’d be able to go back to and ride and have fun on. It was a bit bigger than a lot of ’em, and me being tall, I could relax into that.

Aido’s call: “This is our in-between model, with the high-performance Project on one side and the Magic Door (miniboard) on the other. It’s forgiving – a board for almost anyone, but also for guys who have a good quiver already and are looking for something to fill the space between high-performance and stumpier boards. It’s interesting; short, fat boards weren’t that cool a while ago, but people are looking at that sort of thing with new eyes – two years ago we were making 6’10” Projects, but now we’re lucky if we make one over 6’2”. Everyone’s slowly realising that the waves aren’t great most of the time and you need to be ready for that.”
Flat to single concave to slight double to flat behind fins; slightly expanded outline.
